Humans are biologically designed to understand and learn from facial expressions. From the moment we’re born, we use microexpressions to determine safety, comfort, and connection. Babies look into their caregivers' faces and learn about the world through these expressions, which inform their sense of safety and belonging. This early reliance on facial reflection underlines how vital it is to see love and acceptance in the mirror. When you look into your own eyes during mirror work, you're tapping into the same primal process of learning trust, safety, and validation.

Most of the time, we witness ourselves through the perceptions and projections of others—family, friends, society. Mirror work, however, is one of the few practices that allows you to witness yourself without any filters or external judgments. This is the first time you can truly meet yourself without the distortions of other people's opinions or projections. Life happens, and if you miss a day, it’s okay. You can catch up on the content or simply pick up where you left off. The most important part is consistency over time, rather than perfection. This journey is about being gentle with yourself while making steady progress. Participants have also chosen to stay on a day for more than 1 day. This is also why I have 5 weeks built in for the 3 week challenge. We are in it together!
